STEEL Remember that steel is a material that can rust if exposed to water and moisture for extended periods. It is important to keep steel furniture dry, for example, by using a furniture cover. Rust from inside or on the furniture can drip and discolor the surface it sits on. Keep this in mind if you place it on your new wooden deck. Paint or another coating is what keeps rust at bay, so it is important not to damage the coating. Solvents should not be used on painted or varnished steel, as this will dissolve the finish and expose it to rust. For daily care, clean with a soft cloth and soapy water. Always wipe the surface dry afterward, avoiding excess water. If a rust stain is difficult to remove, you can use a soft cloth and pure alcohol.
